Hi to all,

Can anyone shed light on the regiment that my Grandfather served in from this photo, which i hope is attached.

His name was john Hodgkiss and apart from having worked with horses, know very little about his service. He was born in Wolverhampton in 1882 and i believe his regiment served in India and france.

Thanks in anticipation, Rod

Could possibly be Army Service Corps.

Definitely Army Service Corps.

The badge depicted in the original post is an OR's "voided" badge[ie excess metal cut away]

Kevin's badges are Bronzed KD Officers Badges {possibly Collar badges} made in two parts & are non~voided,in appearance.

Thank you all for the quick response, what a wealth of knowledge this forum contains.

As a newbie and dare i say, 3rd generation Navy Man, i look forward to discovering what the ASC was all about.

I will endeavour to avoid asking oft repeated questions!

Thank you again, Rod
