I have been serching i vain to find his army records he enlisted Befor the first world war and served throughout and was demobed in abt 1922 he started off acording to my father in the 1st Irish Hussars and was orderd to shoot his horse in Irland he also seved at the kyber Pass then transferd to the Machine Gun corps witch he was still in about 1918 in uniform at his sisters wedding with M G C cap badge can any one tell me the most likley place his records could be if they where not in the burnt records

If you have checked the Burnt Records and he isn't there,and he didn't get a pension (did you check Ancestry just in case ?).you might be unlucky. However,you could try this:

they might have something.

Did you already detect his MIC on WO372/20 Image reference 128101/19990 ?

That might show any other units or a lead of some sort.

His pre-1914 service papers would almost certainly have been included in his War service papers,so if one lot is gone so is the other.
