Stephen Nulty Posted 11 February , 2008 Share Posted 11 February , 2008 Chaps/Chapesses One of the men I am researching, Private Joseph Bray, served as 228860 with the above. He was wounded on 15/10/1918 and died of those wounds on the same day. Could anybody please tell me what they were up to and where on that date, please. He had originally joined the 11th Bn., South Lancs Regt. in 1915, giving his age as 19. He sailed for France with SLR on 4th March 1916 and stayed with them until his real age was discovered later that year and he was sent back to England in December 1916. Whilst in England, he transferred to the SWB and was back in France in July 1917. He transferred to 2nd SWB in April 1918.
Steven Broomfield Posted 12 February , 2008 Share Posted 12 February , 2008 Regimental History says they were involved in an attack (as part of the 29th Divn) in the area of Courtrai. Happy to scan if you like: do I have your e-mail address? (I think I've had my tea, but I'm not sure )
