Adam Llewellyn Posted 10 February , 2008 Posted 10 February , 2008 Good Day All, Private Charles Black 282439 12th Battalion Highland Light Infantry Date of Death 20.03.1918. I'm trying to find out where Charles was on the 20th. The links on the Long, Long trail site are telling me that the 12th Battalion where transferred to the 106th Brigade, 35th Division on the 3rd February 1918 and possibly would have been on the Somme around the 20th March. Charles died the day before the Germans started there spring offensive and I'm trying to find out if the 12th Battalion where in the frontline and were abouts if possible. Could some kind person also tell me if he was killed in action. Regards. Llew.

Adam Llewellyn Posted 10 February , 2008 Author Posted 10 February , 2008 Cheers Grant, Must be a typo on CWGC. The 25th would make more sense. Have you got back into your research? Llew.
grantowi Posted 10 February , 2008 Posted 10 February , 2008 Adam, No Not yet....... .....seems to be a never ending list of names and numbers - ohhh, its supposed to be :-) I'll have a week away from it, then try to hit it again, it looks like I'll have to join Ancestory as well :-( Grant

Have you managed to have a look at my last topic? page 2, just to prove that things can all come together. you could say something nice about it, and bump it to the top of the list again. Llew.
