I picked up this photo at a local market. I always thinks its rather sad when such

items are not named and lost from the family.

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody could tell me anything about the man from

the uniform. I was not 100% sure about the rank, and I do not know the unit

(possibly RAMC?).

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks for that. Any idea on the unit?

Thanks. I thought it might be.

Is it possible to guess a rough date from the uniform (ie early war, late

war, post war)? I notice he does not seem to have any medal ribbons on.

Would he have been awarded any medals if he was a Doctor working in a military hospital in England? We have a lot of information on Seaham Hall Hospital during WW1 and a local Doctor (Luke Dillon) who held the rank of Major. We have seen severl photos of him without medal ribbons. (did not serve in the field?) No doubt some of you Pals will be able to put us right.
