Remembered Today:

Searching for information through eBay

I just found an odd eBay listing at "WW1 Death Penny, James McCoy, 2 Batt. N/F Item number: 2221776621"

The person does not want to sell the item, he simply wants information on the person allegedly for his grandson. I have not come across anything else like this, has anyone else?

I feel his question would be better served if placed on the forum as there are numerous experts out there who might be able to help. I have never dealt with this seller so I have no idea how accurate all of this is, I just thought I would pass it along.

There was something similar on ebay last year.

Someone had an item "up" on ebay, but was really using ebay as a device to advertise the New Zealand Military Historical Society.

The way I read it, the 'seller' wants the plaque, not information. And wants it on behalf of McCoy's grandson who must be getting on for 70. The 'seller' appears to be extremely active on Ebay, mainly with military stuff.
