Hi, i feel rather stingy, but could some kind soul with an ancestry account download what I believe to his pension records. I am not so sure to be honest theres only one exact on the list:

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.d...p;gst=&so=3

I've no idea how the pension system works anyway, was it for soldiers who survived or for the next of kins if they died? Garth was buried at home so I don't know if that effected it. Just would be interesting to know how many pals survived the war considering a fair few werent on CWGC. Anyway, im rambling... <_<

Dave,

pm me your email and I will download the 11 images tonight and email them to you tomorrow night if that is ok with you.

Susan.

Definitely - Albert Garth?

will do - am off to start now........ !

ps; during download tried to scan with my eyes and it seems he fell down a rabbit hole whilst walking and from then on (having damaged his ankle and finger) developed disseminating sclerosis.... some form of nerve involvement of his body. Poor man.

Whether or not that eventually was the cause of his death - probably only the death certificate would tell. (but maybe you may read further into the record when i email tomorrow evening)......

But it is certainly a sad case to read. Hope you (I don't mean this in any horrid way) enjoy......

Susan.
