Private Levi Sharples, Manchester Regiment, 49551. Can anyone help with this man's service record? Once again I am interested in whether or not he might have been an employee of the Associated Newspapers.

Grateful as always for any help.

With best wishes,

David

Thanks Mack.

I have several men who served in the Manchester Regiment and who might have been formerly employed by Associated Newspapers. What would be the best way of making sure?

Thank you for any help you can give.

With best wishes,

David

Mack,

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll make some posts there.

Reggie,

Most interested to hear of the Manchester City Battalions Book of Honour with the list of 121 men of the Associated Newspapers.

I have a copy of the Associated Newspaers List of Members of the Manchester Office who have joined H M Forces since August 4th 1914. It lists 101 surnames plus initials. Does your list offer any first names?

With best wishes,

David

Thanks Dave.

Initials alone are a serious problem with this sort of work, aren't they? Give me some imaginative first names every time!!!

With best wishes,

David
