Seeking information on the "Three Pounder" and "Six Pounder" Guns used on Armed Trawlers

What make of guns were installed on WW1 armed trawlers and can anyone supply a description of the 'three pounder' and 'six pounder' shells and shell cases used in these guns.

Thanks in anticipation.
