George Logan, 2/Lt RFA

Hello,

I am doing my family history and have found out that my Great Grandfather, George Logan was a Second Lieutenant with the Territorial Forces.

He was appointed on the 14 day of November 1914. He was with the Forth Royal Artillery.

How can I locate his war time information?

Any help would be great.

This looks like him in these London Gazette entries:

1. Gazette Issue 28973 published on the 13 November 1914. Page 30 of 106

Royal Garrison Artillery:

Forth: The undermentioned to be Second Lieutenants. Dated 14th November 1914.

Private George Logan from the, Lothians and Border Horse Yoemanry

2. Gazette Issue 30595 published on the 22 March 1918. Page 2 of 4

Awarded the Order of the Crown of Italy - Cavilier Lieutenant (Acting Captain) George Logan - Royal Garrison Artillery.

You should be able to get his service papers from the Public Record Office/National Archives. The linked site - The Long Long Trail - will tell you how. There are also a few RA/RFA/RGA experts who may be able to help.

Ron,

take a look at the Long, Long Trail main site, where it tells you in detail how to get information on war time service.

The National Archives is a must and there are many helpful threads on this site to help you prepare for a visit.

Good Luck

I've given this thread a more meaningful title, as it is likely more people will read it that way.
