brianmorris547 Posted 9 December , 2022 Share Posted 9 December , 2022 HA 1682 HA 15709 HA 1682 is recorded on the AF B 103 of Edward Gregson, 16642 of 10 Bn Loyal North Lancs, who was wounded on 11/08/1916 most likely on the attack on the Intermediate Line. (TNA WO 363). Times OCL 12/09/1916 Wounded - Loyal North Lancs. HA 15709 is an added bonus for me because it lists some of the wounded of 2/4, 2/5 and 4/5 Loyal North Lancs of 170 IB in the disastrous attack on 26/10/1917. I have got lists from the papers of those killed and honoured and have walked the ground twice. It was Bolton's worst day for casualties with over 120 killed but also Bolton's most honours gained in a single day. One of the names is 240615 Richard Greenwood. He is also named in the Times OCL 12/09/1916 under number 2294 Wounded - Loyal North Lancs and the Bolton papers confirm that he was one of the wounded of 5 Bn at Guillemont on 09/08/1916. brianmorris547 Posted 9 December , 2022 Share Posted 9 December , 2022 One of the names on HA 15709 200709 Pennington, A has a hospital admission MH 106/240 149 FA on 26/10/1917. I found 33 more wounded of 170 Infantry Brigade admitted on 26/10/1917. including 244805 Farrer, J. Joseph Farrer is shown on this HB list from November 1918. I have checked the HB lists starting 155-- on p 84 posted by Dink but this is not one of them. There are some AF B 103 forms in service records for three of the names. They show HA numbers but not HB.

brianmorris547 Posted 10 December , 2022 Share Posted 10 December , 2022 Back on p 60 I posted HA 15720 October 1917. Here is another part of HA 15720 October 1917. HA 15725 October 1917. This list has more names from 170 Infantry Brigade wounded on 26/10/1917 at Poelkapelle. I am currently researching 5 Bn Loyal North Lancs on 09/08/1916 and 10 LNL on 11/08/1916. My next phase is 2/5 and 4/5 LNL on 26/10/1917 so finding HA 15709 (above) and HA 15725 gives me a heads up. I hope to find more.
brianmorris547 Posted 10 December , 2022 Share Posted 10 December , 2022 HA 15703 Another list showing wounded from 170 IB 26/10/1917. I had hoped to find 1916 Loyals Lists first and then move on to 26/10/1917 but I found a man who had been wounded at Guillemont in 1916 and Poelkapelle in 1917. This led me on to these 1917 Lists. brianmorris547 Posted 11 December , 2022 Share Posted 11 December , 2022 Two more not on the latest list. HA 955. I must have seen this before when I was posting RE 1916 lists. It names a County Palatine RE recruit 81337 Potts, J. It must have been one that I thought was too faint to post. At the time I got paper copies from the library. HA 3968.
