HA 1703 and HA 2140

AF B 103 from the Service Record of James Edwards 12697. He is named in the Times OCL 12/09/1916 under Wounded - Loyal North Lancs. He was wounded on 11/08 with 10 Bn in the attack on the Intermediate Line.

HA 1703 adm 22 GH 12/08/1916.

HA 2140 to 6 CD 30/08/1916.

When I have finished this project I will schedule the names I find for each list, so at least we will have a partial list hopefully with corroboration.

HA 1682

HA 15709

HA 1682 is recorded on the AF B 103 of Edward Gregson, 16642 of 10 Bn Loyal North Lancs, who was wounded on 11/08/1916 most likely on the attack on the Intermediate Line. (TNA WO 363). Times OCL 12/09/1916 Wounded - Loyal North Lancs.

HA 15709 is an added bonus for me because it lists some of the wounded of 2/4, 2/5 and 4/5 Loyal North Lancs of 170 IB in the disastrous attack on 26/10/1917. I have got lists from the papers of those killed and honoured and have walked the ground twice. It was Bolton's worst day for casualties with over 120 killed but also Bolton's most honours gained in a single day. One of the names is 240615 Richard Greenwood. He is also named in the Times OCL 12/09/1916 under number 2294 Wounded - Loyal North Lancs and the Bolton papers confirm that he was one of the wounded of 5 Bn at Guillemont on 09/08/1916.

One of the names on HA 15709 200709 Pennington, A has a hospital admission MH 106/240 149 FA on 26/10/1917. I found 33 more wounded of 170 Infantry Brigade admitted on 26/10/1917. including 244805 Farrer, J.

Joseph Farrer is shown on this HB list from November 1918. I have checked the HB lists starting 155-- on p 84 posted by Dink but this is not one of them. There are some AF B 103 forms in service records for three of the names. They show HA numbers but not HB.

Brian,

A little enhancement of the the image shows the next number to be an 8, so HB 1558_

HB 15583 & HB 15585 were posted on page 84, it’s going to be one of the other 8 lists in the range 15580-155899A16CFAD-D468-46D0-87FE-BC7932F19EDB.png.d81d8156c92a487669d3092a7c30bef6.png

Back on p 60 I posted HA 15720 October 1917. Here is another part of HA 15720 October 1917.

HA 15725 October 1917. This list has more names from 170 Infantry Brigade wounded on 26/10/1917 at Poelkapelle. I am currently researching 5 Bn Loyal North Lancs on 09/08/1916 and 10 LNL on 11/08/1916. My next phase is 2/5 and 4/5 LNL on 26/10/1917 so finding HA 15709 (above) and HA 15725 gives me a heads up. I hope to find more.

HA 15703

Another list showing wounded from 170 IB 26/10/1917.

I had hoped to find 1916 Loyals Lists first and then move on to 26/10/1917 but I found a man who had been wounded at Guillemont in 1916 and Poelkapelle in 1917. This led me on to these 1917 Lists.

Two more not on the latest list.

HA 955. I must have seen this before when I was posting RE 1916 lists. It names a County Palatine RE recruit 81337 Potts, J. It must have been one that I thought was too faint to post. At the time I got paper copies from the library.

Two more AF B 103 Forms from the Records of 15318 Job Lawton and 22374 Edward Lowe. Both were wounded on 11/08/1916 serving with 10 Bn Loyal North Lancs.

HA 1690             mentioned in Job Lawton.

HA 1705             mentioned in Edward Lowe.

Both named in the Times OCL 12/09/1916 under Wounded - Loyal North Lancs.

I am searching the Times OCLs 12, 13 and 14/09/1916 in order to identify 5 Bn LNL and 10 Bn LNL. I intend to post schedules of all the names I find in the OCL with List numbers in their records.

Brian, just to let you know that out of 300 "C" prefix lists that I have yet to post C927 is not one of them. Closest is C926 which involves ASC men.

HA 1528

On p 44 Dink posted HA 1528 which showed Shrewsbury TF and MGC Record Office admissions to 12 GH on 04/08/1916.

The AF B 103 of Albert Roscoe 16903 10 Bn Loyal North Lancs records that he was wounded on 04/08/1916, adm 34 CCS (confirmed in MH 106/699) and adm 12 GH HA 1528.
