Yes, do another new post in http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showforum=1

Lloyd was wounded, probably August 1916.

Fairbrother is presumably 8556 Alfred George Fairbrother, KIA 10/4/1917 with 11th Warwicks. No hospital or burial I'm afraid.

Don't think you'll find hospital records but more could be worked out for Lloyd, in a new post.

Diane

Thank you very much for posting these for me. I am having trouble posting at a size that can be read. The two in post 495 were found in the service record of 14690 Abraham Garratt 8 Lincs and the one in post 496 was found in the service record of 12118 Charles Spowage also 8 Lincs. Both men were taken prisoner at Loos on 26/09/1915. I am researching 8 Lincs men who became POWs on that date, my grandfather being one of them. They are on a list of men who were in Munster 2 in January 1916. The service record of Charles Spowage contains some documents relating to 12119 Alfred Simpson, also 8 Lincs, who was also taken prisoner on the date, including a form headed "Internment of Prisoners of War in Switzerland". This shows that Alfred served with A Company 8 Lincs and was wounded by shrapnel. He arrived in Switzerland on 13/08/1916 but was never held in Munster 2. The service record of 12119 Alfred Simpson contains some documents relating to Charles Spowage.

p s stiletto, I would be interested to know where your recent posts turned up. I took a lead from SteveE last year who found some in WO 329/3035. I found more in WO 329/3034. I look for them whenever I go to Kew hoping to find my other grandfather who was wounded serving with the RE in 1916. (see post 456 p 19)

Brian,

Most of these come from soldiers records.
