Greenwoodman Posted 27 January , 2004 Share Posted 27 January , 2004 I'm researching a William Edward Bailey, killed in 1918 with the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. SDGW reports that at one time he was 42252 of the Welsh Regiment. A cursory look at SDGW reveals that those killed numbers up to 42181 seem to be with the 23rd Battalion of the Welsh Regiment. There are no 422**s in SDGW. Those with numbers in the 43***series seem to be general replacments with several battalions mentioned Any experts out there on Welsh Regiment numbering? I'm hoping to find out which battalion he was with prior to transfer.
