In the medal roll for KOSB, my grandfather's name is on the page titled 'last served with SCD KOSB' what does this mean? The previous page is titled 'last served with ICD'.

That's possible as he was demobilised in Hamilton Scotland, so it would follow that ICD has a similar meaning. To clarify, the last 3 pages in the medal roll are 'last served with-Trg Bn & Depot, ICD and SCD

Just thoughts!!!!

ICD: Irish Command District

SCD: Scottish Command District which in the case of the KOSB should be No 2 District with depot Berwick-on-Tweed.

As I sayd just possibilities and thoughts.

According to the web site, the Scottish Command Depot was in NIGG, looking on the map there 2 such place names in Scotland, one being near Aberdeen and the other being towards Inverness, any ideas which one the depot was at?

I've always assumed it was the one near Inverness and was part of the the conglomeration of military establishments round Cromarty/Invergordon - but I do admit to a Highland bias.

In fact, I didn't know there was one in Aberdeen until now ............
