Guest jbd Posted 26 January , 2004 Share Posted 26 January , 2004 Can I start by stating that this is a serious request for an update of information. Please do not turn it into anything else! The proposed memorial to John Condon was due for a planning decison in December 2003 by Waterford Council. Does anyone have an update on this? Was permission given or not? The Campaign for War Grave Commemorations (cwgc.co.uk - not the official CWGC site) has an interesting article on this soldier. It presents a well reasoned case for suggesting that he was not actually 14 years old at the time of his death. I understand that the owner of this site is a member of the forum. Does he -or anyone else- know the background to this article. Again, please accept this as a serious request for information. Not an invite to anything else.
