ChrisLS Posted 3 January , 2008 Share Posted 3 January , 2008 ...hello everyone I am a new recruit to this forum. I have a life long interest in the First World War. I have visited many battlefields and cemerteries from Ypres down to Albert, often cycling as it is the best way to get the lay of the land and to see many pieces of ordnance on the fields or by the side of the road. With two friends, who are brothers we found their great-uncles name, Woodroffe, on the Menin Gate he won a VC at Sanctury Wood. I am returning to Ypres in March with my son, aged 14, we plan to cycle up the Menin Road to Hooge and Sanctury Wood and over to Tyne Cot. Anyway I just wanted to say hello and what a fantastic resource this forum is...
Ron Clifton Posted 3 January , 2008 Share Posted 3 January , 2008 Hello Chris, and welcome to the Forum. I usually issue a health warning in that WW1 research is addictive, but I suspect that you have already discovered that! Best of luck, Ron
