Hywyn Posted 2 January , 2008 Share Posted 2 January , 2008 I am reviewing some of my files. I have posted on this one before but it got a bit confusing plus I was at the start of a steep learning curve. Some of the names are a nightmare to pinpoint exactly I have a William Jones who, according to a commemoration on his parents headstone, was killed in France aged 29 years April 12th 1917. Taking all into consideration I narrowed it down to Pte 41284 W Jones of the SWB who according to CWGC and SDGW was killed 11/4/1918. I'm running with him as the village is right on SDGW and I have positively identified the other William Jones from the area (quite a few). I appreciate that the headstone may be wrong and haven't found anything in the local papers in either year. What I haven't done/got is an Overseas Index so I would be obliged if it could be determined if the above SWB man is shown for 1917 or 1918.
