Richard Fisher Posted 1 January , 2008 Share Posted 1 January , 2008 Good Evening All, After scanning some documents I have relating to the 42nd Division, I am trying to find some more information out regarding an individual of the 42nd Bn, MGC. The documents in question are pretty generic 42nd Div Orders of the Day and the Trench Orders guide (I have started a thread here - http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/i...showtopic=89157); however, they came as supporting documentation to a flag of the 42nd Bn MGC, which was flown in 1918 at the Bn HQ. I presume 'A Sanders' was an officer of the unit (as he has the flag and the Trench Orders documents); however, a quick search of the medal index cards does not turn anything up as the 'A' seems to be insufficient. It seems he was a member of the MGC OCA into the 70s so survived the war by a number of years. Any information would be appreciated. sotonmate Posted 1 January , 2008 Share Posted 1 January , 2008 Richard Is it possible that you could get his Christian name(s) from his home address connection and via any local Library archive ? I realise that he was in Hadleigh and you are in Swindon but it might be possible, even through the members on the Forum resident thereabouts. Then you would have a few more details from which to identify the Officer. War Diary for 42 Bn MGC for this period is WO95/2650. Best wishes Sotonmate
