Steve, Steve, Coldstearmer, many thanks from `my man' (Chair local RBL), at last he can order his Grandfathers gongs and have them ready for wearing at next `Poppy Day Parade'.

NOW ; on the `list' of Service Records that I received from PRO along with Herbert Kightly was a George W KIGHTLY which he suspects is his G.F's brother. SO, I am now looking for info on him.

What I have is ; Private 52278 H / 1 / 104

MARCH R - March Regt. / March Reserve ??? - was there such a thing as these -

surely not a March REGT ???

So chaps over to you again. Will also post this in SOLDIERS as this is not exactly a `Gongs' Q !!

Regards & many TA's once again, much appreciated I assure, especially as I got a pint for my `good works'.

Dennis.

Is it definately 'MARCH R' - MANCHR could be Manchester Regiment?

Good luck with the search.

Neil, thanks for interest.

It is March R OR `Sqwiggle R' - does not read as Manchst at all - SO ???

OK Coldstreamer will do - M. Pies go down well with Wee Drop Brandy - unless you subscribe to `Not until Noon-day Sun over the Yardarm' - forget, T'is Christmas.
