Southminster, Essex

I have a photo of my Great Grandfather who was in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. On the back it says that it was taken near 'Southminster' which is in Essex and is dated 1916.

Anyone out there know which battalion of the Royal Warwickshires were there at or around that time? Who else was there? What size was the garrison?

The only thing I caould find out so far is that the area may have been an important rail yard/sidings. Was it also used as a training area? A tranisit area for troops heading to france? Or was the garrison there purely to defend the railway?

Any help appreciated and thanked in advance.
