shancrom Posted 15 December , 2007 Share Posted 15 December , 2007 I recently came across a number of memorium cards in a local sale, they where for soldiers killed during the war, i was wondering, does anyone know where and when they originated, 1 includes a photgraph of the soldier the rest just have a religious verse, i believe the Germans particulary Catholic's where big into them, was it an exclusively Catholic practice for British Soldiers families, any info appreciated. punjab612 Posted 15 December , 2007 Share Posted 15 December , 2007 was it an exclusively Catholic practice for British Soldiers families, Not at all, memorial cards wwere very popular in Victorian times in all Christian sects, their use started to decline in the 1930's.
