Jim_Grundy Posted 20 January , 2003 Share Posted 20 January , 2003 I hope someone can clarify matters for me. I always thought that the Kaiser told his men that they would be back home "before the last leaves of autumn have fallen" in 1914. However, I've recently read the account of an Australian woman who spent the war years in Germany and she attributed those comments to the Kaiser in 1915. Does anyone know a source which definitely pins down when Kaiser Bill actually made this leafy word picture? Cheers, Jim
