Paul Johnson Posted 23 January , 2004 Share Posted 23 January , 2004 Can you help me please? Reuben Bygrave was the husband of Mrs R S Bygrave of 12 Alleyns Road, Stevenage. The cause of his death is not currently known but it is thought he may have died as a result of a training accident. I can find no Regimental War Diary at the PRO for his unit. Any suggestions as to where I might look? I also could not find any MIC for him, so possibly his unit only served in the UK? Details are as follows; Reuben BYGRAVE - 109991 - Gunner 22nd Reserve Battery. Royal Field Artillery Died on the 6th August 1916 aged 30 Buried in the St.Johns Churchyard, Sutton Veny, Wiltshire. (237.B.2.) Thank You Paul Johnson
Paul Johnson Posted 6 February , 2004 Author Share Posted 6 February , 2004 I now have his Death Certificate. He died at the Military Hospital in Sutton Veny. The cause(s) of death were Larcoma of the Testicle and Exhaustion. The certificate is signed by Harold Luke?, of the 20th Company RAMC. Anyone have any information on this hospital, or know if any records exist at the PRO, such as Admission Registers?? (I had a quick look on PROCAT but couldnt find anything). Thanks PAUL JOHNSON
