theresa musgrove Posted 5 December , 2007 Share Posted 5 December , 2007 Help! Usual problem - trying to identify my grandfather's RFA brigade. Thomas Brown Nicholson, aka Tommy Nicholson/Tommy Brown, regimental number 26282, served in France, 'qualifying date' August 31st 1915. Started as Driver, finished as Acting Bombardier. Born 25/12/1894, Easington Lane, Durham. Not listed in the 160th Wearside Brigade. I have a postcard he sent my grandmother which implies he is training in the Aldershot area c 1915 - postcard is of German prisoners of war ar Frimley Camp active in this period. Any help gratefully received!
jay dubaya Posted 5 December , 2007 Share Posted 5 December , 2007 Hi Mimi, welcome to the forum Perhaps Tommy was part of one of the following RFA brigades CVI, CVII, CVIII, or CIX (How) all part of the divisional artillery of the 24th Division. The whole division landed in France between 28th August and 4th September 1915. cheers, Jon
