Easy Rider Posted 3 December , 2007 Share Posted 3 December , 2007 Hi I have recently come across my grandfathers service records, but I cannot read part of it, which names a town where he was. Can anyone identify the place from the picture below? I thought it said 'Le Clythe', and have tried looking for that on maps, but cannot find it. PLEASE can anyone tell me anything about it? Where it is? 7th York regiment It may be something totally different to what I think it is, I just cannot work it out. Thank you

glenda hewitt Posted 4 December , 2007 Share Posted 4 December , 2007 La Clytte is now named De Klijte It is near Ypres. If you go towards Kemmel. You should see it signed. You could get some trench maps from pathsofglory.co.uk I hope this helps. Good Luck Glenda

Good Luck Glenda I have a map showing a location of butterfly farm, which i myself visited (not military) I have tried to insert it here but it is too large. If you insert an address I could try and email it to you.
