I have had for many years a chest on which is painted:

Coy Sgt Major J Kelly

"D" Coy

1st 5th East Surrey Regt

...and then his address in Wimbledon.

I am told it is WW1 but know nothing more about it.

Is it a phoney?? It looks genuine enough, but just intrigued by it.
