mandrewnesbit Posted 30 November , 2007 Share Posted 30 November , 2007 Dear All I wonder if I could enlist your help. I'm trying to find out where my grandfather, William Skelly "C" Coy, 11th Battalion Somerset Light Infantry, Regt number 44770, fought during the war. The war diaries are held at the record office in Taunton, but before I plan a "holiday" in the South-West, is it possible to search the SDGW database to see where 11th Batt. SLI casualties were taking place from September to November 1918? Ever hopeful Andrew
armourersergeant Posted 30 November , 2007 Share Posted 30 November , 2007 Its possible to list the nemaes etc of all 11th men who died between the dates, however as far as I can see you can not see where they died and are buried. I guess you would have to cross ref to the CWGC for that info. If I can see a way of saving the list, can not print it, as printer is up the shoot, I would send it too you. I will see, I have my local branch's copy and have not used the tool much! If I can work it out I will let you know. regards Arm
mandrewnesbit Posted 30 November , 2007 Author Share Posted 30 November , 2007 Dear Arm Thanks for this, just noticed I put 1917 instead of 1918 in my original post. Now corrected. Cheers Andrew
