Remembered Today:

Missing New Zealand Lieutenant

Richard John

Recommended Posts

My great-uncle was killed on 12 October 1917 and has no known grave. However, there is a one in four possibility that he is the unidentified New Zealand Rifle Brigade Lieutenant buried in the Passchendale New British Cemetery. I have just received my uncle's asrmy records from NZ Archives and on the Casualty Form – Active Service, against the entry referring to my uncle’s death, there is a reference ‘2nd List 16º1139X3951 (Z.C.599) B213’ Does anyone know what this reference might relate to? Many thanks in advance.

I would be fascinated to see if anyone can be of help with Richard's request. It is a really interesting story and I wouldn't want to see this thread 'go cold'.

All best,

Jeremy

Thanks, atilla

What he's trying to find out is what ‘2nd List 16º1139X3951 (Z.C.599) B213’ means on the service records he has received from the NZ Archives.
