Richard John Posted 29 November , 2007 Share Posted 29 November , 2007 My great-uncle was killed on 12 October 1917 and has no known grave. However, there is a one in four possibility that he is the unidentified New Zealand Rifle Brigade Lieutenant buried in the Passchendale New British Cemetery. I have just received my uncle's asrmy records from NZ Archives and on the Casualty Form – Active Service, against the entry referring to my uncle’s death, there is a reference ‘2nd List 16º1139X3951 (Z.C.599) B213’ Does anyone know what this reference might relate to? Many thanks in advance.
alliekiwi Posted 29 November , 2007 Share Posted 29 November , 2007 Well, B213 was an Army Form, but I don't know about the rest of it. Hopefully someone else does. Allie

alliekiwi Posted 30 November , 2007 Share Posted 30 November , 2007 Since Richard is probably still asleep, what with timezone issues... it's one of the chaps in his signature: Lieutenant William Rule KIA 12 October 1917 Surname RULE Given Name William Bramwell Category Nominal Roll Vol. 3 Regimental Number 39722 Rank Lieutenant Next of Kin Title F Next of Kin Surname RULE Next of Kin Relationship Father Next of Kin Address 45 Richmond Terrace Christchurch Roll 62 Page 28 Occupation School-teacher Allie
J Banning Posted 5 December , 2007 Share Posted 5 December , 2007 I would be fascinated to see if anyone can be of help with Richard's request. It is a really interesting story and I wouldn't want to see this thread 'go cold'. All best, Jeremy

alliekiwi Posted 7 December , 2007 Share Posted 7 December , 2007 Thanks, atilla What he's trying to find out is what ‘2nd List 16º1139X3951 (Z.C.599) B213’ means on the service records he has received from the NZ Archives. Allie
