mhifle Posted 25 November , 2007 Share Posted 25 November , 2007 I came across this sketch map in the War Diary for 31st Infantry Brigade July/August 1915. WO/95/4296 I think it might show the route of HMT Alaunia transporting the 7th Royal Dublin Fusiliers on 10/11th July 1915. Would the circles with dots in them represent mine field locations or is this just some Artistic licence? Regards Mark
Michael Lowrey Posted 25 November , 2007 Share Posted 25 November , 2007 Minefields, no. Germany didn't have U-boat minelayers at that point in the war. Possibly ship sinkings by U-boat though (torpedoed or stopped and scuttled). Bst wishes, Michael
