Aaron Pegram Posted 20 November , 2007 Share Posted 20 November , 2007 Dear all, I am trying to lay my hands on Herbert C. Fooks, Prisoners of War, J.W. Stowell Printing Co.:Federalsburg, 1924. It seems that a copy never made its way over this side of the pond, or if it did, is not listed on any library catalogues. AMAZON and a billion-and-one rare book catalogues have come up with nout. An inter-library loan through the University may be possible, but will cost me just the same. Has anyone seen a copy for sale in their travels? Cheers, Aaron
owilki1984 Posted 20 November , 2007 Share Posted 20 November , 2007 Aaron, Someone put the following link on my thread. It is a digital copy of Herbert Fooks book. I hope the link works: http://cgsc.cdmhost.com/cdm4/document.php?...mp;CISOSHOW=237 (Thanks MelPack for the original link) If it doesnt work then go into my thread on Class, Rank and Status and see MelPack's post of 17th October) It takes a bit of time to load up once you open the link but it does open if you give it time. Then you can download each chapter. Funnily enough I am just about to start reading it now. Hope your work is progressing well mate, and thanks once again for the look-ups you did for me Regards Oli
MelPack Posted 20 November , 2007 Share Posted 20 November , 2007 Oli & Aaron The treasure chest has become even larger! If you follow this link then you will find a list of books on POWs that are freely available for download because copyright is now extinct: http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=pr...diatype%3Atexts Regards Mel
MelPack Posted 20 November , 2007 Share Posted 20 November , 2007 If the link plays up just press the red GO button and the search results will come up. Regards Mel
JulianB Posted 20 November , 2007 Share Posted 20 November , 2007 Oli, what a great link. I've finally found some US PoWs I've been after for a while. A bit of googling has told me more and I've just posted a couple of threads here elsewhere ion the forum. Thanks, Julian.
