PFF Posted 17 November , 2007 Share Posted 17 November , 2007 On some CWGC records-not only is the unit/regiment given but also the words "General List". What is "General List"?
Ron Clifton Posted 17 November , 2007 Share Posted 17 November , 2007 Hello PFF Most officers were commissioned into a particular regiment or corps, but some, who were commissioned for staff or specialist service, were commissioned onto the General List. This applied, for example, to officers appointed for intelligence work, who had not previously served in a regiment. Try searching the rest of the Forum with the keywords "General List", as there have been several previous posts on the subject. Ron
