Chris_Baker Posted 19 January , 2004 Share Posted 19 January , 2004 Can anyone tell me the movements and whereabouts of 41st Heavy Artillery Group. Would I be right in saying that there is no war diary for this formation, as I could not find one in PRO indexes?
Terry_Reeves Posted 19 January , 2004 Share Posted 19 January , 2004 Chris Can't be sure about this, but there was a reorganisation of HAG's in December 1917 and they became RGA Brigades. Try 41st Mobile Brigade RGA. Terry Reeves
rflory Posted 19 January , 2004 Share Posted 19 January , 2004 Chris: The 41st Heavy Artillery Group, RGA in 1917 was redesignated the 41st (Mobile) Brigade, RGA. In November 1918 it was part of Fourth Army and was comprised of the 1/1 Northumbrian Heavy Battery, the 1/1 North Midland Heavy Battery, and the 1st and 6th Siege Batteries. The war diary of the 41st Brigade, RGA for Mar 16 to Jun 19 can be found at WO95/472. Regards. Dick Flory
