Hello Donny,

William J. Seaward [W.S.A. 637], Temporary Skipper R.N.R., seniority 26/11/14.

Dec. 1918 Navy List gives him as skipper of the Hired Trawler St. Cyr [appointed 19 Dec. 1916].

St. Cyr, 315 tons gross, completed 1915, 1x12pdr gun, minesweeper, Adty. no. 1527, Port no. H257 [Hull], service 6/15 to 1919.

Thank you very much :) A bit more to work with on Ancestry now and give my NA sleuth a bit more info too. Had a quick look in "Swept Channels" and St Cyr gets a mention for North Russia. Any more info or perhaps a picture gratefully received ;)

Microfilm copies of his RNR cards are in BT 377/7 at Kew, originals at the FAA Museum. Medals in the officers' medal roll in ADM 171. Your NA slueth should also investigate his Mercantile Marine career for you.
