Jem2109 Posted 16 November , 2007 Share Posted 16 November , 2007 Is there anyone who can tell me which battery? a soldier was in from his regt no and his date of entry? I've been looking on TLLT and other websites but there are so many I am lost. Francis H Downes, Dvr 94537 DOE 10/5/15, he was from London if that helps any. ian turner Posted 16 November , 2007 Share Posted 16 November , 2007 It might be an idea to post a copy of his medal card on the site, in case it contains any clues that pals on here might spot. Ian
jay dubaya Posted 16 November , 2007 Share Posted 16 November , 2007 Hi Jan, the 53rd Brigade RFA landed at Le Harve from Southampton on the 10th May 1915. This unit was part of 9th (Scottish) Division. My Great Uncle Levi was also part of this brigade (see my signature), cheers, Jon

Jem2109 Posted 16 November , 2007 Author Share Posted 16 November , 2007 Thank you Gents Here is his MIC, just in case I missed something. I will have to remember to add it to the forum's list.
jay dubaya Posted 18 November , 2007 Share Posted 18 November , 2007 Hi Jan, just to amend and clarify my post, the brigade sailed from Southampton on the 10th and landed on the 11th. His number may also suggest a pre-war regular, cheers, Jon
