mametzwood Posted 16 November , 2007 Share Posted 16 November , 2007 Hello, Could any member please tell me what CLASS W would mean in relation to a wound on the MIC. Best Wishes SWB
MelPack Posted 16 November , 2007 Share Posted 16 November , 2007 SWb If you search on the main site you will find this: Class W Reserve and its Territorial Force equivalent Class W(T) were introduced in June 16 by Army Order 203/16. They were ‘for all those soldiers whose services are deemed to be more valuable to the country in civil rather than military employment’. Men in these classes were to receive no emoluments from army funds and were not to wear uniform. They were liable at any time to be recalled to the colours. From the time a man was transferred to Class W, until being recalled to the Colours, he was not subject to military discipline. mametzwood Posted 20 November , 2007 Author Share Posted 20 November , 2007 tHANKS mEL, I presume if he was re called to the colours, would he then have another MIC? SWB
MelPack Posted 20 November , 2007 Share Posted 20 November , 2007 SWb In theory that would not be the case because service would be continuous. The instances of double MICs I have encountered is when a men was discharged as time expired and the chose to re-enlist in a different Corps.
