the saint Posted 16 November , 2007 Share Posted 16 November , 2007 My files are in cardboxes because of a recent home-moving, but I would suggest a Yeomanry Warrant Officer - though I may be wrong.
Greg Posted 16 November , 2007 Share Posted 16 November , 2007 Could it be one of the Home Defence volunteer groups? I can't think of their correct title but officers often had a rank system based on rings like the navy and I gather they sometimes wore a grey grey green uniform Greg
Steven Broomfield Posted 16 November , 2007 Share Posted 16 November , 2007 Looks like the AA to me, but I would go with Greg's suggestion - one of the Volunteer regiments (Home Guard precursors).
Greg Posted 16 November , 2007 Share Posted 16 November , 2007 I have had a look under Volunteer Training Corps One on the 25 August 2007 has the dress regs for them and there is another by Montbrehain which shows very similar rank badges. I hope that I am including a link to the dress regs thread! http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/i...r+defence+Corps. I would think the dark collar etc were probably unit distinctions Greg
pbrydon Posted 18 November , 2007 Share Posted 18 November , 2007 I dont think this chap has anything to do with the yeomanry, I am attaching details of the badges of rank from the Volunteer Training Corps Gazette of January 1916. I think VTC is a possibility P.B.
