A death notice has been found in the New York Times dated 21 Feb 1918 which shows that his funeral was to take place the next day from the Mount Neboh Temple New York; Im now trying to either a cemetery data base for the Mount Neboh Cemetery (in Queens) or a contact

Indeed I do!

This fellow is not buried in Mount Neboh Cemetery in Queens...their staff confirmed that with me. However, I have a new lead I am hoping will pan out. The cemetery office opens in an hour or so and I hope to check with them and see if he is where I think he is.

This is Mount Neboh Temple, shortly before it was razed in 1984:

I will post an update a little later today.

Hi all,

The grave of Harold Griffith Nelson has been located in Union Field Cemetery, Brooklyn. He lies in Grave #56-7 1/2. I hope to obtain a photo for full confirmation as soon as is possible.

I will post the unveiling announcement I was able to locate this evening, when I have access to my computer.

Thanks,

Daniel

Hi all,

Happily, I got access to the file now, so here's the aforementioned announcement in the May 19, 1918 issue of the New York Times that led to this discovery:

CWGC added the following 'new' WW1 casualties to its Debt of Honour database today – Tuesday 13th November.

AM.II Thomas Campbell BEYNON

27905 Recruits Depot, Royal Flying Corps

Died 10.05.16 Age 34

Commemoration: Brookwood (United Kingdom 1914-1918) Memorial, Surrey, UK

I believe he is buried in the churchyard at Greenham, Berks.

I have now located his grave - the inscription is still clear so the CWGC won't need to do anything to it for some time yet.

Haven't got access to the burial register yet.
