Mrs BBJ Posted 25 October , 2007 Share Posted 25 October , 2007 Hello, I've been in touch with the Red Cross to request a search on my grandfather. However, after two months the only contact I received was an e-mail asking for my credit card details. Now, being security conscious, I am very reticent to e-mail my card details, prefering instead to give them on a secure website. So, I returned an e-mail asking if I could pay through a website, and have had no reply since. As such I was wondering if anyone else has had dealings with the Red Cross, and what payment methods you used. Many thanks
DavyJohn Posted 27 October , 2007 Share Posted 27 October , 2007 I received my father's details from the red cross, but I'm hanged if i can remember how I gave my card details, I will have a rummage and see if i can turn it up, dont hold your breath though, all I can say is it went through without problem and I received their certificate showing where he was captured and held. Tonym Posted 27 October , 2007 Share Posted 27 October , 2007 I have dealt with The BRC Archives on many occasions but I always send a cheque donation with every request and I have never experienced a problem. My enquires have taken anything from a week to three weeks depending on how much work they have. I have found them most reliable. Tony
Mrs BBJ Posted 27 October , 2007 Author Share Posted 27 October , 2007 Thank you for the replies. I will probably answer the e-mail then. It's just that in this age of phishing I was a bit wary and hesitant.
