ok i know that this has been covered before but i cant find the post, so i will have to ask again. while doing an online search i noted there were about 30 men with the same low number 80, in the royal field artillery. i understand the reasons in a regiment, territorials and different battalions, but why in th RFA?. I vaguely remember it having to do wih different artillery formations but that it.

Low numbers usually indicate a Territorial Force unit. If the MIC also indicates a 6 digit numer in the blocks 300000 up, then you can check here to find his unit.
