Hi I am currently writing a book based on the diaries of a World War 1 machine gunner. In the diary it says "Brother George has won D.C.M Good lad." Can anyone help me find where the citation for this can be found. I have searched local papers and found mention of this but no mention of the act for the award. The soldier who won D.C.M is Gunner George Mackay 83rd Siege Battery Royal Artillery he was awarded the DCM at the end of March 1917, or this is when the notice appeared in the local papers. I'm in Edinburgh Scotland.

Thanks

Ali
