excrable Posted 18 October , 2007 Share Posted 18 October , 2007 My Grandfather is said to have been a rider on the horses that pulled a gun limber during 1914-1918.He is said to have been wounded twice. Is there any way i can find out what unit he was in and his record whilst serving.I have a photograph and a form regarding my mothers employment .It has been stamped with the date 12 Apr 1917 surrounded by ???RFA Record Office Woolwich. My Grandfather was 39 in 1914 so he perhaps was in the Territorials when the war started. jay dubaya Posted 18 October , 2007 Share Posted 18 October , 2007 Welcome to the forum excrable If your Grandfather served abroad during the war he will have been entitled to medals, have you searched the National Archives Medal Index Cards (MICs)? What is his name? There is plenty of help here on the forum, cheers, Jon
