Mark Hone Posted 14 October , 2007 Share Posted 14 October , 2007 Could anyone give me an approximate map reference (in Trench Map or modern IGN terms) for Bensham Road Support Trench, the location of the dugout from which the Hill 60 and Caterpillar Crater mines were detonated on 7th June 1917? A preliminary perusal of my 'Linesman' digital maps has not borne fruit. Many thanks.
AlanCurragh Posted 14 October , 2007 Share Posted 14 October , 2007 Mark - "Rat's Alley" gives this on Bensham Avenue and Bensham Road - 28 NW4 and NE3 - Zillebeke - I 29 c - which might help a little, although that just appears to be the square of which Hill 60 is the SE corner...
