Ilbury Welsh Posted 12 October , 2007 Share Posted 12 October , 2007 Hi, as part of my recent project of researching men from the CWGC site with whom I share the same name I am currently looking into the death of Stoker 1st Class John Walsh RN who died 19th Nov. 1915 on board HMS Scourge. His papers say he died from a boiler explosion so my next step would be to look at the ship's log to see what was happening that day, as to whether this was just an accident or whether she was in conflict. Has anyone already researched this ship and that date please? Regards John
sadsac Posted 12 October , 2007 Share Posted 12 October , 2007 Hello John, info on HMS SCOURGE re her LOG for explosion incident is available N.A from file number ; ADM 53 / 59506 which covers Nov. 1 to Dec 31 1915. As this is a MOSTLY Navigational Log there may well be nothing in there re incident. If not you should try ADM 1 / ????? Regards Sadsac

per ardua per mare per terram Posted 12 October , 2007 Share Posted 12 October , 2007 You can probably find the file or report on the incident by using the ADM 12 indexes. Here's a link to a thread where they're mentioned.
