Chief_Chum Posted 9 October , 2007 Share Posted 9 October , 2007 Following on from Richard's excellent 'Navy News' article... 26th October 2007 will be the 90th anniversary of the capture of Varlet Farm by men of the 63rd Royal Naval Division during the battle for Poelkapelle. To mark the occasion the Khaki Chums are rasing money to erect a simple brass plaque commemorating the event which will be unveiled at 11am on Friday 26th October. The plaque is to be funded by donations. All are welcome to attend. The Royal Naval Division rarely get remembered and we hope that this occasion will go some way to redressing the balance; the Jacks certainly deserve it.
