Hi Guys,

My Granda was with the RHA from around 1902 - 1907 then with the RFA from 1914 - 1918.

During his first spell I have a photo in which he sports a pillar box type hat, (see Avatar) what would he have worn in his second spell?

He hailed from Bo'ness ...........in case that makes a difference!

wishing you all the best,

Swally

Hello,

The same as other soldiers, tin hat, or cap comforter, or the standard cap (with peak and chin strap) depending on the situation. I have forgotten the proper name for it, perhaps service dress cap.

'Old Tom'

Hello,

I take it it wouldn't be a Glengarry then?

Cheers Swally
