Hope some of you may find the attached of interest.

It is some of the information which I uncovered during research into my Grandfathers WW1 service.

He was chief engineman on HMT Passing.

Best Regards

David,

Seem to get something about ringtones when I go to your site? Could be me!

Regards Charles

Well ,your'e not old enough to be my Grandfather even though he was born in Hull.

He served in both world wars, admittedly in the second in a training capacity for other Harry Taters.

Cheers Charles.

It doesn't download for me, but opens in my browser (Safari) - many lines of characters and occasional broken text.

Cheers Terry

David, just downloaded your paper; could be very useful, thanks for posting.

Hey Charles, maybe the leading lady has run off the Africa with Tony's travel firm.

Best wishes

David

Still carn't get into your link, I can tell from your accent you are from Cleethorpes or 'Old Clee' though. What is your Grandfathers name?

Regards Charles

Hello Charles

His name was Thomas Henry Todd, known as "Harry"

Older brother George Albert, also in RNR and younger brother Harold,RNR again.

Thomas Henry moved to Grimsby/Cleethorpes in about 1909 and spent the rest of his life there.

Have attached a further piece of info.in jpeg format, please let me know if you can open it OK.

Regards

Dave

Dave,

Thought I had seen that photo before or something like it, the story and photo are in 'Fishermen in war time' by Walter Wood published shortly after the war. The photo of 58 on the beach is different I will see if I can scan it and post it.

Regards Charles
