chrislock Posted 11 January , 2004 Posted 11 January , 2004 My Grandfather died in his ealy 50,s before I was born. I have since been made aware that he was a WW1 vet. His name was Alec Harold Holder and was trained at Aldershot and served with possibly the artillery. He received shrapnel wounds to the neck, no other info avaliable. Is there an artillery office or "Soldiers who served and survived list" available? Please help, thank you. Chris.
Chris_Baker Posted 11 January , 2004 Posted 11 January , 2004 Unfortunately not. Best advice I can offer is this: click on the link (top left of this page) to the Long, Long Trail and read the Grandad's War section. It will tell you how to research him, and what you might be able to find out.
chrislock Posted 11 January , 2004 Author Posted 11 January , 2004 Your advice taken, "The long trail has started" thank you.
