I would suggest that 5/AP stands for 5 Ammunition Park. These units were the link between the railhead and the Divisional Ammunition Column that delivered to the artillery units.

Thank to everyone for the input.

The medal does have CMT-9 engraved upon it and the other details come from his Discharge Certificate.

I will Put together all I have and post it.

Hi Gary, Further to the above information 5th Divisional Ammunition Park is listed as 49 (MT) Coy. ASC.

How do I find what prefix someone in the ASC might have, I only have number 276917 Alfred Gest, who then enlisted or transferred to the 18th btn Manchester 42240? How would I find out? Many thanks
