TOOTH Posted 27 August , 2007 Share Posted 27 August , 2007 I was reading Martin Gilbert's The First World War and he mentions that on october 25 1914 a battalion of the Wiltshire regiment was all but wiped out, to use his phrase, at Reutel. It's on page 93 of his book.Does anybody know the details or the losses incurred by the battalion? Also, does anyone know of any books or websites that may deal with this incident? Thanks

bts1970 Posted 27 August , 2007 Share Posted 27 August , 2007 Lew One of "My" lads on the memorial at Purton died on the 24th , he was 1st Wilts. Wardrobe definately the place for those interested in the Wiltshire & berkshire regiments, they have put the diary`s into copies for sale around 10-12 pounds per battalion as well. I am soon to be out of pocket i think as i have around 35 Wilts lads from nearly all the Battalions who either died or survived .
