Remembered Today:

25th Bn Royal Fusiliers Casualties 4-Jan-1917

Recommended Posts

I have some of the War Diary for the 25th Bn Royal Fusiliers and want to put some names to the casualties listed if at all possible.

Is their some kind pal with access to the SDGW who can look up the casualty details for this battalion for the 4th January 1917.

Diary states Capt. Selous, 1 NCO and 2 men KIA, plus 3 Officers, 2 NCO's and 5 men wounded (2nd Lieut Dutch seriously wounded - since dead).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks very much for such a quick response. I can now look for their details on CWGC website to find their final resting place.

Thanks again.

Once again many thanks, this time for the additional information on the two officers involved. One question though. Both have (tp) after their ranks, does this signify a temporary rank or am I missing something?

In a word - yes. Both were "Temporary Gentlemen" for the duration of the war only.
